I bought a Predator G3-605 for my son as a Christmas gift. My son plays Minecraft and the computer workt for 24 hours perfectly.

Yesterday it start crashing when entering Minecraft. Error message code 3 was displayed. I tried to change things in NVidia control panel. Googled error code 3 and got the suggestion to change power handling under 3d to perform maximum. But the computer crashes all the time. Not fun at all

Have you already tried to uninstall Minecraft, re-download it and reinstall?

have you downloaded the latest Java enviroment?

Please do a restart after installing the latest Java ennviroment and retry, if still have the issue, try this:

right click on the Minecraft exe, select properties, select Compatibility tab, from the dropdown menu, select Windows 7, click on Aplly and OK

    start Minecraft

Thanks for trying Smiley Happy Unfortunately it does not work. I notice that I got read of the messages of error code 3 and NVidia card stop responding and has recovered. But still the computer black’s out. I also noticed that it happens I paint or any program. On YouTube I can see that this is a problem that is not UN common.

I ordered this computer from the net and I believe that I have to send it to a local computer technician on my own expense since I don’t want to be without it for weeks.

    Give it a last chance.

Download nvidia drivers from the official website:

    http://www.nvidia.it/Download/index.aspx?lang=us

uninstall the Acer nvidia drivers, then install the nvidia official and try.

if you still have nvidia drivers recover error, probably the VGA is faulty and need to be changed.

I would try installing and running ram test software to see if your ram ddr has no errors. If it does, replace the bad one.
Also I recommend once it's crushing and reboots, go straight to the bios (usually by pressing del buttons on the keyboard before it boots to windows) and there you can see the processor heat. If it's overheating then you can check if the fan speed is good ( maybe the cup fan doesn't work as it should) and if the fan works good but still overheating then apply thermal paste on the cpu under the heat sink.
If the ran is good and cpu heat is normal, check the graphics card temperature or try removing it and playing the game using the onboard graphics card. If using the onboard card you'll have no crashes the the issue is your graphics card for sure.
    Hope that helped.

Excuse me but with this AG3605 the possibility of using the onboard graphics is locked! Happy new year!

The onboard card  have no crashes and we have tried different graphics cards as well. None works on this computer which indicates a hard ware problem.

But as Jaclou said “Excuse me but with this AG3605 the possibility of using the onboard graphics is locked!”

Could be but that is no longer my worries since I sent the computer back to Acer
