Bought one of these for christmas and when I powered it up it wont go do anything when it gets to welcome screen. Its new so should it be doing this?

normally at the first boot, it will appear Acer logo and after a while the welcome screen for a google account.

if you have already a google account, enter you username and password.

if you don't have a google account, you can create one or discard it.

when I power it up it will only go to the welcome screen with pick a language on it but the screen wont allow me to go any further.

not good, try to enter recovery and do a wipe/factory reset

 

power off

then press volume UP + power button

when vibrate release power button

the select recovery from the menu

at the dead android press power button

then select wipe data/factory reset

at the end

reboot and see if you can go further the welcome screen

 

if not, you have a defective device, please contact your seller or Acer support service.

Ended up having to take it back. New one is going well
