OTG Cable for W4-820 & Bluetooth Keyboard question?

Hello...

1.) Which OTG cable would be compatible with the Acer W4-820? Not looking for a hub even though I've seen them, I've got an external USB dvd reader I'd really like to use.

2.) I've asked prior want to confirm I can use basically any Windows Bluetooth keyboard with the W4-820 or do I need a specific type?

Thanks....Gamer2k1

I can't test with a W4 so won't give a suggestion on #1. For #2 pretty much any bluetooth keyboard will work. I tested with an Apple keyboard and a combination laser pointer compact keyboard that was about the size of a TV remote.

Only have a W510 and a W3 but have had poor luck with OTG cables. Do have windows tabs from other mfrs and same.

Have used a number of BT devices, both keyboards and a KP-810-10BPP keyboard/touchpad/laser pointer that fits in an eyglass case. All work well.

Must admit I prefer wired devices.

I've used one (several of the same actually) called "Asuxtek® Tablet Micro USB Host OTG Cable" that I bought on Amazon with both W3 and W4 and never had any problems with them.  Realize that if you want to use a DVD it will need an independent power source (i.e. not be powered through the USB) to work in most cases if you're not going through a powered hub.

OK as I understand it the purpose of OTG is to provide a way for a device to switch from host to slave. For example to exchange files with another computer. Two hosts cannot communicate nor can two slaves so OTG provides a way for a device to change role. USB is a lot like SCSI in many ways.

What is the purpose in this context please ?
