You have a pair of things to try before telling is an hardware issue.

1)can you check if under settings/wifi you have any advanced settings for wifi?

you may need to tap the screen top right 3 dots if you have it, or the settings button in the bottom of your screen (it's a long press on the multithread button, 2 rectangles)

if "advanced" appears, tap it and uncheck "wifi optimization" and retry.

    2) do a factory reset
    Settings/backup&reset/factory data reset

Hi, I'd already tried 1 several times, as it seems this is a common problem with this tablet.  Tried 2 and it worked, although losing all my settings was a pain.  Despite wifi showing only a 'fair' signal strength, it did connect.  However, two days later, it's gone back to 'poor' signal strength and won't connect again.  I'm sitting next to my superhub, using a wifi laptop with good signal strength!

    Any ideas?
