The message "com.android.phone" keeps appearing on my E350. Does anyone know how I can remove this annoying problem.

Hi, could you give a bit more information? Does it show all the time, or when you're performing specific actions? Did you try a factory reset of the phone (found under: settings > about phone)? Are there specific other things that do not work on your phone, that you are aware of? Installed any specific apps? Understanding a bit better your situation will help saying something sensible to help you :-)

Thank you so much for replying, I have had great great difficulty in finding anyone to help.

The problem pops up randomly and for no apparent reason.

I have not put on an enormous number of apps, and all that I have came from the Google Play site.

I have considered reflashing the ROM but I am wary of trying to put Cyanogen on this phone.

You should know that I am not completely ignorant arround computers and considered a hard reset, but I am hoping that this may not be necessary as I don't want to risk losing data.  On previous phones I lost all my contacts.

I failed to say that when the message pops up, most features cease to function temporarily.

I understand your concern for data-loss, but well, if you set up your phone with a Google account, all your contacts, calendar should be synced with Google, and sync back to your phone after a reset. If not, i hope your phone still allows you enough time without errors to do so, as it is convenient way of backing up.

Data such as photos and videos, you can retrieve via the PC, so those should not be a problem either.

The reset I descibe will not do anything like Cyanogen, it will re-install the original Acer ROM of your phone. The error you get sounds like a pretty structural problem in Android itself, so I would first try this - if this solves it, then it was the installation gone bad. If not, I'd say there is probably a hardware failure (and in such cases, installing custom ROMs is a fine way of making problems worse!).

So to clarify, you suggest that I do a hard reset?

If so could you please link me to the instructions so I don't screw things up.

Many thanks for your prompt reply.

I am sorry to report that the problem persists after a hard reset.

Any ideas on what I can do now?

Frankly, I would contact Acer support about it. The Android module sounds a bit too "fundamental", and if the errors continue to come after a hard reset, I'd fear it's hardware related.

Before sending the phone to Acer try another sim card. I had the same problem with my stream and it worked fine with my wife´s

    sim card.
