I don't have the Acer folder on my computer and Alt+F10 not working.

Hey.

I was thinking to do a factory reset to my desktop acer predator G6310 through eRecovery. I recall doing it before two times (and of course forgot to make the backup discs Smiley Tongue ) but now it is gone. I've tried couple times the Alt+F10 combo on the Acer screen that comes up in the startup (this is how I did before if I recall correctly (tho I have some memories doing the first time something in BIOS too)) and searched for the Acer folder.

After that I looked up from your site for help and found the W7 eRecovery from the acer store page (link: http://store.acer.com/store/acerna/en_CA/html/pbPage.eRecovery/ThemeID.30483300/Currency.CAD ) I looked up the SNID and S/N and put them in the box and it said that they are not found from your database, I even downloaded the tool to detect it and it still said the same that it didn't find it. Could it be because I'm from Finland? Or my computer's age (it was bought from an electronics store called Gigantti in the fall of 2011)?

that link works only for US Acer PC.

you can check if Acer recovery partition is still here, on windows disk manager.

Yes, the link is for US and Canada only. I don't show that we have an online store up in Finland but we are working to expand.

What I can see at the moment it shows it is used 90,4 MB (14GB is its size) but no files are shown (tho not sure about hidden files).

That must be the Acer recovery or i hope so, the strange thing is the assigned letter, since this must be, by default, an hidden partition.

please try this:

1 -
windows key logo + r
type
diskpart
On diskpart
list disk
(check the disk number where the recovery partition is installed)
type
select disk x
(x is the number of the disk where partition is installed)
type
list volume
type
select volume x
(x is the volume number of the recovery partition)
type
detail partition

if recovery volume is not listed:

instead of list volume

type

list partition
check if all partitions appear
select partition x
(x is the number of the recovery partition)
detail partition

2 - take note of "offset" value and "type" (guid) value
Open the XML file C:\Windows\System32\Recovery\ReAgent.xml (don't use wordpad but download a free XML editor like:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/xml-copy-editor/ ). Locate the line "PBRImageLocation". Set its offset and guid accordingly to the values you found above.

3 - Open a new command prompt or Windows PowerShell with admin rights (press windows key logo + s; type cmd ;right click it and select "run as administrator") and enter reagentc /disable, followed by reagentc /enable.

You should now be able to create a Recovery drive, just follow this instructions (or try with Acer erecovery):

Alright I found the offset value but I can't seem to get the guid value.

you can use the Acer erecovery software if still available on your system.

Ya, so you're right with Windows 7 it would start in the Acer folder. It may no longer be available in something happend to the OS. Here are some steps for Windows 7 systems.
