Hi,

I own a A210 with 4.1.1  which has been rebooting by itself after 30 seconds constantly lately, i'm pretty sure its caused by some app or an update but it wont stay on long enough for me to be able to uninstall anything.. Smiley Sad

so i get in the boot menu ( Recovery ) and then select: wipe data/factory reset then I see :

-- Wiping data ...

Formatting /data...

formatting /cache...

Data wipe complete.

then I select "reboot system now

it boot up and Nothing has been wiped!! Smiley Sad it's ridiculous i'm used to work with android devices and it's the first time i see this problem..

 Please Help!!

Thanks in advance!

Jerome

try the key combination to go to recovery and wipe data from there (second option):

    Are you able to boot?

i suspect a corrupted recovery, since you can't even flash it.

if still in warranty, please contact Acer support service.

have you ever tried to root those tablet? cause i was thinking about rooting it and getting Clockwork mod recovery on it so i can flash some custom rom,

I did find a tutorial and the first step is to unlock the bootloader.. i did try it but it fails so no luck with this either! i guess its related, something is wrong but i don't know what happened everything was fine until last week

I guess i am gonna have to buy a new tablet.. Smiley Sad its sad cause it was working great and i loved it.

Edit the link to xda, it's not allowed here. Smiley Wink

if bootloader unlock gives you an error, the emmc rom is corrupted in some way, so there is no software solution to fix it.

    sorry

Ironfly, could I use Odin to flash the rom cd1.zip? or is it only for rooted devices?

Odin is a program for other tablet brand, not Acer.

oh i see! sorry about this stupid question! Smiley Happy

And what about Acer do you think they have some program that could fix my issue?

Or you are sure there is no way to fix it and I should just go to the store and buy a new one?

if so what would you recommend me to buy? Acer ?

i don't know any tool to be honest, there are some infos around the web but not very easy like connecting to USB, pressing 2 buttons and done.

instructions involves a good use of ADB and command line, so....it's all in your hand, even if i can give you some help via PM, there is an high risk of device brick.

About new tablet suggestions......give a look at some shops around you, talk to seller and take the one that fit best your needs.

I would appreciate if you could direct me to those infos on the web!

Thanks again for your help its much appreciated!!

Take a look at Acer.com... The latest models are the the Iconia Tab 8, Iconia Tab 10 and Iconia One 7. They are 7", 8" and 10" running Android. Price seems to run between $150 and $200, there are several varients with different screen resolutions and features. How did you like the size of your A210? If that's the best size for you the the Iconia Tab 10 will likely be the best fit. If you'd like a smaller, higher density screen then the Iconia Tab 8HD might be better...
