Hello all,

I recently purchased the Acer E5-571-56WG and am wondering if it supports 5ghz networks?  I can't seem to locate any 5ghz networks in my building.  I see it supports wireless b/g/n (http://www.acer.ca/ac/en/CA/content/model/NX.MLTAA.009), and I thought "n" meant 5ghz?

Also, how does one activate the turboboost feature of the cpu? And when attempting to check the HDD health via the acer care program, when I click check now, it shows a progress bar for literally a split second then nothing occurs? any idea why?

Thanks

Wireless N is a wireless networking standard just like a,g,b are standards. You will need a dual band router and a dual band wifi card in your laptop before you will get 5GHZ.

TurboBoost is automatic. There is no manual way to turn it on and off.

I have a dual band router already, so I was wondering if the card in the laptop was dual band. I assume it is not though.  Thanks for the answers.  I like how turboboost is automatic.  Any idea on the HDD check issue?

Download this and burn to a CD. Boot from it and use ExcelStor hard disk diagnostic utility.
