Coffeepocalypse 2014 -- only one casualty

After thoroughly drenching my Acer C720 in coffee, I quickly disassembled it (thank you, Acer, for using standard screws!) and let it dry out for a few days. Much to my surprise, the laptop is almost fully functional -- I'm typing on it right now, in fact.

The only casualy seems to be the trackpad. While it still responds to touch, actually pushing the trackpad button (physically "clicking" it) does not register with the system. This is not the end of the world, but it makes selecting text very difficult (I haven't quite mastered Chromebook's tap-to-select function).

Does anyone here know anything about the connections on the trackpad that would make this happen? I'm concinved that I reattached all cables inside the Chromebook (in fact, I only dettached one -- the battery cable). Short of replacing the keyboard/trackpad, which appears to be somewhat difficult, is there anything I should be looking at?

Thanks.
