After Installing Windows 10 beta (which runs 3 weeks without problems) I defragmented the drive during the night.

New booting shoe in BIOS NO HDD.

Thanks

No HDD in BIOS is an hardware failure on HDD or BIOS problem (very rare)

If your D150 is still under warranty, contact Acer support service.

Thanks for your fast unswer. Yes, it could be the HDD, but if I can update the BIOS I would do it. I don't know how to do this.

the support page for your model is here:

    http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers/1080;-;AOD150

click on BIOS tab and it will appear the available BIOS, by the way is not working on my side this morning....

in the .zip file, you will find 2 folders, use the contenc in the DOS folder.

to make a bootable DOS USB pen, i suggest you to try Rufus:

    http://rufus.akeo.ie/?locale=en_US

easy tool to make bootable USB pen, to have a DOS bootable working, format the USB pen to FAT32 and choose "MS-DOS" not "free-DOS" from the drop down menu on "create a bootable usb disk using".

    Hi,

to create a bootable USB-Stick should not be the problem, but I am not sure which BIOS I should flash.

On this page are two dufferent BIOS.

If I look for Acer 150 there is another BIOS.

In fact within the Aspire is an Atom N280 CPU installed.

I updated the BIOS from V.1.02 to V.1.09 without any effect concerning the HDD...it's still NOT know.

No, I have let tested the HDD in a PC-Shop and the Drive is ok.

I gave them everything and they shall test the motherboard and cabling.

    We will see....

    Hi,

The PC-Shop said the disc is o.k., but will not be recognised by the BIOS. They have no explanation.

So I bought a new 500 GB disc (59 EUR) an let this blank disc install in the ACER. The disc before (150 GB) can I use with an USB connection and a disc-cover for other purpose.....works fine. I formated the new 500 GB disc and installed from USB my Windows 10 beta. Everything works fine now an I use the old 150 GB-Disc for backups etc.

    Thanks for helping.
