Acer Stream android 4

Hello to everyone here, I´m new in this forum. For many years now I´m a fan of Acer products because I think they´re simply the best. So two years ago I bought two Acer Stream for me and my wife. What I absolutely don´t like, is Acer´s support for this mobile. It seems everything has finished with an update to Froyo in 2011. Meanwhile you can buy cheap mobiles in Germany with 600 mhz processors and they support android 4. For our 1000 mhz Streams there is nothing: no official Acer updates, no inofficial rom packs. Seems our Stream will always creep on with Froyo. Is there any chance of help?

    Not from Acer, then.

Sure, there are new devices available in the market that have Android 4 installed. But many many devices by all makers (Samsung, HTC, Sony etc.) from the same time period as the Stream have never seen an update to Gingerbread or Ice Cream Sandwich. It's not a problem specific to Acer. That does not make it right, but it shows it's a more generic problem for the markt. Things move fast, and sometimes maybe a bit too fast.

As for "unofficial ROM packs"... those are up to volunteers to make. Nobody can really blame them for not focussing on a specific model. Their work is mostly a question of what's most in demand.
