Iconia Tab A200 still stuck on 4.0.3, tells me my network coverage is too poor.

Hey everyone.

Alright so as you can read in the title, I've been stuck on version 4.0.3, which is pretty old now. Whenever I try to update it it tells me my "network coverage is too poor", however I'm right beside my WiFi and the signal is strong.

I set the automatic check for updates, but I still can't get it. I tried other networks and still nothing. My tablet is now super slow and I'm really annoyed. Anyone knows how to fix the update problem?

Thanks.

This is because the update servers for the A200 and other early models have been shut down. I have no idea why the error states the wireless signal isn't good enough, probably someone decided that it was better than 'we are no longer providing updates'. Smiley Happy

You can still get the latest round of software from the support website, they are just no longer supporting the builtin update process.

How exactly do I go about installing the update? Should I download it on my computer and transfer it on or download it straight to the device iteslf? I'm new to this device (got it a month ago after my fiance upgraded) and have very little knowledge  about it.

If you are on 4.03 there is no more updates, so no need to figure the process out. If you are on 3.2 still then you'll want to go to the support site for your locale and download the 4.0 update. You need to pull down the version that matches your locale. You can download it to the tablet or to another computer. Once it's downloaded extract the "update.zip" file from it and place that in the root directory of a FAT32 formatted SD card. Put that in your tablet, shut down and start up using the magic 'volume and power' buttons and you'll be prompted to install the update.
