Bought an acer Iconia tab 7 (A1-713) a little over a month ago. Now battery is suddenly discharging/ charging too fast. Had upgraded to KitKat long time back, so don't think that is the issue but now battery dies even if its showing 75% with a few minutes of simple reading offline docs. Need help....  please!!!!

I'm afraid that sounds like a hardware failure with the battery. Contact Acer support and they'll get it fixed for you.

Thanks for the reply, billsey. I'll check it out....  do you know why it had a hardware failure? Anyways I can prevent it from happening again? I am careful with all my electronics and this tablet is just on my pc workstation sparingly used as an accessory to read/ view videos/tutorials while I work with specific software on my pc. So, I can't see any reason why it should happen.

Can you try a factory reset and recheck battery charge/discharge?

    backup your personal data first.

    settings/backup&reset/factory data reset

you can also try to power off your tablet, connect it to the charger and let it fully charge, then power on. (if you tablet has the option to charge when power off)

Hi, thanks for the input...  but I already did all of that, plus a hard reset as well. Even left it off to charge for 8 hours. No use whatsoever. Thanks for trying though. Its at the repair center already....  funny thing is, this is the SECOND tablet I got...  the first one had a screen flicker issue immediately and with a lot of fighting, they replaced it after 2 days with this one....  they had the audacity to suggest sending a ONE DAY OLD product for repair!! So I think if this doesn't solve now...  no more ACER...  my first and last.

I'm afraid the repair center is gonna get back with "WATER DAMAGE" or some other excuse to weasel out of the warranty anyways.. (its the standard thing here with ALL service centers!Happened with Sony, HTC etc..... to my friends...  seems they can't/ don't want to repair anything)

So hopes are bleak....  let us see.....

Just to update...  it was a battery hardware failure... cause unknown....  battery was replaced and so far it is ok, though kitkat seems to be using more battery than jellybean
