Connecting the w510 to a tv

Has anyone been able to connect the iconia w510 to a tv via the micro hdmi? When I try the tablet does not pick anything up and the tv says no signal. From what I have read so far this seems to be because the two screen resolutions are not compatible, however in control panel there are only two options for resolution, neither of which work.

Does anyone know how to make this work or select a 1920x1080 resolution?

Thanks in advance

I am also having many of the same problems as others I am reading here - sound breaking, being unable to wake from sleep etc so if anyone has made any breakthroughs on these problems I would also be greatful!

I have a 50% success rate in connection to HDMI devices Dell 24" would  sync but Acer 23" monitor would not. Have had good luck with an HDMI-VGA converter. When it worked it was capable of 1920x1-80/

I was able to connect it to TV. There are few things you can make change but you can't do much about the resolution setting. You have to play with display 1 and display 2 to make it work.

Where do you find options for display 2? For me it seems like the w510 doesn't even register anything is connected so there doesn't seem to be any settings for the second display...

     No problem at all.

just plugged in to a mini hdmi to std hdmi connector and successfully used two different flat panel tvs without any issues at all.

I'm having the same problem now, no signal. Tried a couple of TV's but still no signal. I was using my W510 with the HID cable connect to the TV for about a week with no problems, so I know it worked. Some time next week I'll buy a new cable and try again hoping it's the cable and not the computer.

Connected mine to a Samsung monitor using an HDMI to VGA converter, no problems whatsoever, however the max resolution on both devices matched

If can't find display 2, try to replug micro HDMI until it shown (TV must keep power on).

(Long press -> choose right menu "Screen Resolution"-> Choose "Multiple dispays:" "Show desktop on 2"->click "apply" -> click display 2 -> choose "resolution:" to 1080p if TV support ->click "OK".)

New cable was no help. Acer Technical Support gave me a few things to try including restoring the factory settings. Nothing corrected the problem, so now the unit is on its way to Acer’s repair facility.
