slow performance in video games after 10 min of playing

I have a v3 571G laptop core i7 with a geforce 640m video card. Is not the fastes video card but can handle advance video games in medium to high. Every time I play any video games, with settings from medium to high, at the begining the fps are aroun 34 to 40 but after 10 to 20 min of playing, the fps gets down to 12 to 20 specially when there is explosions and such. Is my laptop video card dying or is something else? thanks!

Go to the Nvidia Control Panel and change the Power Management Mode to  Maximum Performance.

Download this utility and monitor your temps while you're playing. See if it's getting hot as you play.

Im actually using MSI Afteburner and the GPU temp went up to the limit CPU stayed around 80 and 90 what do you think I could do?

The thermal paste between the CPU/GPU and the heatsinks is dried up and not doing it's job anymore. It needs to be replaced.

You're going to have to disassemble the laptop and get the motherboard out or pay someone to do it.

Thanks gonna have to do that, also I was playing some games while the hardware monitor is open and I noticed that in an option where its says GPU1 Utilization Limit is all the way to 100% and goes all the way down and the fps of the game goes up, I really dont understand why, even now while I write that option is still 100% and I even have some lag writing this
