I've had my Acer Aspire X3400G for almost three years with no problems until tonight.  I had purchased a game through Origin and had it installed directly to my computer.  The launch screen for the game wasn't responding so I restarted my computer safely... so I thought.  When my computer came back up, I had a blue screen and some kind of error message I wasn't able to read fast enough.  My computer came back up, and when I tried loading my game once more, I got an error message that a game disc wasn't in the drive (game I purchased was not the last one needed to run the game).  I tried a different game by a different company, with the same results.  When I pulled up My Computer from the Start menu, the DVD ROM (DSmiley Happy drive wasn't even listed.  Needless to say, I am feeling slightly ill.  HELP!!!!

you can check if DVD is alive, booting to BIOS, press DEL at boot and see if it appears on the bootable devices list.
