Acer E5-571G a few problems

So, first problem is with acer's driver site : just look at the size of updated drvers -i.e. audio driver - almost 1 gigabyte !!!... this is just ridiculous, is acer's site hacked or what kind of pot are they smoking ???

Second problem, fn key doesnt work - acer site doesnt even have drivers fot hotkeys ....

Third problem - touchpad is not working or wrong/bad drivers posted in acer's drivers site. The touchpad itself is working, i tried it in linux, and it works, but in windows it doesnt work...

Aabout half year already gone after you released this notebook, fix your problems with drivers !

Acer launch manager, it's listed as win8.1 but works on win7 too.

realtek audio drivers is 387mb for windows 8.1; 760mb for windows7

sure it's a very big package for win7 but nothing nearly 1GB. Smiley Happy

about touchpad can you check on your device manager if any exclamaiton mark is present?

Where you see the Yellow exclamation mark, double click it, choose "Details" tab, from the dropdown menu choose "HardwareIDs", click the first string and copy/paste it here.

That launch manager is just renamed intel management engine, i have it installed, and in overall, device manager shows that everything is installed and no problems.

Still, audio drivers from manufacturer is about 3-7 times less in size, so wth is inside it ?? i am using drivers from manufacturer site, as this version in acers driver site clearly has something big and bad inside it...

And my touchpad details : HID\VEN_SYN&DEV_1B7E

And how about BIOS update ? there was posted 3 bios updates instantly, and there is no instructions, so i just assumed, that the newest update also includes changes from older versions, and installed only newest update.

Well, this one is only for windows 7, and i am using 8.1 at the moment - "Sorry ! This operating system is not supported".

Well, fn keys are working now, but touchpad is still not working. The driver looks like fake - its size is way too small, and it doesnt add anything about touchpad to the system, like on my other laptops - there is synaptics tab in mouse settings in control panel, or a separate executable in control panel named "touchpad" or "synaptics".

there are some threads in this board about Synaptics missing software, maybe you can try a quick search.

I have the same problem:

I recently purchased an Acer E5-571G and see that is not running function scroll.I installed all the drivers for touchpad possible, but in Device Manager appear: PS / 2 Compatible Mouse- Microsoft Manufactured instead of Elantech or Synaptics.Any idea what to do? I mention that notebook runs Windows 7 64 bit.Thanks!
