Macbook Pro on 27" monitor (K272HUL): no 2560x1440! Please help... only Full HD on a TB to DVI cable

When I connect my Macbook to a 27" Apple monitor is automaticly switches to 2560x1440. When I connect it to my brandnew Acer K272HULbmiidp it only show resolutions up to 1980x1024. Above this resolution it stay black and says no input.

I have a MacBook Pro early 2011, OS Mavericks. Use a Thunderbolt to HDMI cable. This should not be the problem?

Please help me out. Cource I can't use this monitor this way.
