Hey there, i am not very techy, so please bare with me on this.

Basically my Acer 5742 laptop is second hand and is failry old now. It has some spyware on it "price chop" and "torn tv" amoung others, which is making it pretty much unuseable atm.

Instead of spending money on a programme, I thought I would factory reset it. However after googleing I realised I should have created restore points previously, but I have not. And with it being second hand i do not have the windows disk to reinstall it after.

I have backed up all my files and do not mind loosing my programmes if i can clean my laptop.

I found this link and wonder if it would apply to me...

As long as it's still Windows 7, the Alt+F10 combo should work OK. Let us know how you do. Thanks
