Iconia W510 not Opening on Windows 8.1, after install 2 Acer Updates (BIOS and Drivers)

It appeared I had to Reboot and did so. Tablet reloads and then I log onto Profile and the screen just stays at Blue Screen. Tried a couple times and always stops at the same screen.

Any thought's

Sounds like you need to boot from the SYSTEM CD and have it do a repair.

I was trying to fix this for my Uncle, so sorry if not sure.

There is no CD drive on this tablet. He only gave me the tablet and changer.

Are you saying there is an external CD drive that came with this tablet?

I look on Acer site and could not see what came with this tablet.

    Thank you for your responce.

Sounds like the user account is corrupted. Smiley Sad If you can get into the Windows boot menu (might require connecting a keyoard) you can enable the Administrator account from the command line (net user administrator /active:yes) then login as admin. From there you can create a new user account and go through the process of moving your old data from the corrupted account to the new account. Google it if you are unsure of the process...

32GB W510s came with 2 CDs and a DVD. You need to supply a player. 64GB W510s had a built in recovery partition.

With Windows 8/8.1 it is hard to do a "safe mode" boot. MS expects you to be able to boot to Windows to get there. See here.

i think i had this on same tablet. the screen went biserk after driver set update. i rememember i was able to fix it without having to reinstall. you can get to safe mode by holding shift and restart while in troubleshooting, then try to restore to previous point or re-set the tablet, if it has original windows 8. you may need to connect usb keyboard to use shift. i believe, i used safe mode + restore point.

I had that happen and was able to lock colors by putting in high contrast mode. See this thread. That said just staying on a blue screen sounds different.
