I am going to buy this pc, Acer TC-120 DTSVKEQ009 for my 12 year old son. I am trying to look for information about possibilities for upgrading this computer in the future, but does not find a lot of information about it. I find places that says it can have max 16 GB memory, other places says 32 GB. It has 8 gb memory. Is this in 4+4 in two out of 4 slots?

I have also been told in a computer forum that it would be possible to upgrade to a external graphic card like the MSI GeForce GTX 750Ti 2GB ?

    Hello,

Don't look the AMD Radeon HD 8570 Graphics specifications. This desktop is equipped with an APU and not with a graphic card. The APU uses the memory installed (shared memory).

About the memory, it's correct. You can do as you have described in your previous reply.

About the MSI graphic board, the power consumption is 60W but the PSU recommended is 400W.

    The PCI slots are available.

I have been told that it only uses 60-70 w.

So it has two memory slots available, so I could for example uppgrade with 2x8GB without removing any existing memory? (and get 24 GB of memory. Or remove the two 4GB and put in 4x 8 GB. There are no rules of how I have to do this? There is possible to uppgrade by only buying and putting in one 8 GB card too?

Expension: 1xPCI-Express x16 3.0 (Occupied) and 1xMini PCI-Express x1 (Occupied) : What does this mean? What is it occupied with? Doesn't the grapic cards use PCI port? I thought the graphic card was an internal one?

Sorry about all the stupid questions, but I am not very good at this Smiley Tongue

  • About graphic, it's an APU: CPU+GPU in the same "box" --->AMD A8-6500 with Radeon HD8570D.

For the others questions, I will reply you tomorrow.

I am only getting more and more confused. In the AMD Radeon™ HD 8570 Graphics spesifications, It is written:

Up to 2GB GDDR5 or DDR3. Does this mean that some of them come with dedicated memory and some of them use the memory installed in the pc? If so, how do I know which is on this computer?

And is the graphic card replacable or not?Smiley Frustrated

My son is going to use the game Euro truck simulator 2 and similar games on it. Do you think the desktop would manage this with the apu or do you think he needs to upgrade to a grapic card with dedicated memory? If needed, which graphic card can be used with the desktop?
  • Hello,

    Euro truck simulator 2:

    Minimum System Requirements

Windows XP/Vista/7/8, Dual core CPU 2.4 GHz

2 GB RAM, graphics card with 256 MB memory

(GeForce 7600 GT-class equivalent or better)

    Recommended System Requirements

Windows 7/8, Dual core CPU 3.0 GHz

4 GB RAM, graphics card with 1024 MB memory

(GeForce GTS 450-class equivalent or better)

The desktop model is between both. It's "well" suitable to start.
