Can anyone help with a recovery image/disc for an Aspire V5-122p ultrathin, please? Never made one and now corrupted and won't boot after win update.

    Hi,

Thank you for responding and appologies for late reply, I did not get an email so did not realise anyone had replied.

Windows update went into a loop and trying to return laptop to factory settings/image will not work (fails during every option in the repair/recovery screen) and I have no recovery disc or backup. Acer want to charge me over 50 quid for a problem not of my making (windows auto update) as laptop is 14 months old. This crappy little computer was very expensive for such a low spec and I am very angry that it did not even come with a recovery disc. It does not even have a windows key on the bottom so I cannot contact Microsoft about it. Acer support no help at all other than to try and charge me.

    Thanks,

    Paul.

Did you try ALT+F10 at boot?

Yes, tried all recovery options from alt F10. Backup image on hard drive corrupted or deleted.

can't see video on my mobile, but will look tonight, thanks.

you had to buy Acer recovery DVD if you want to reinstall with Acer software, or you can try to install from an original Windows 8 DVD and see if you can activate it with the integrated serial.

Okay, thanks anyway. This has put paid to any chance I will ever buy an Acer product again as it seems I can't even load my own version of Windows on this laptop! What right have they got to do that??
