Hello, I have just replaced the hard disk after a disk failure. How do i do a factory install/reinstall to get the desktop back to factory settings. Is this possible without the original disks as my father in law can't find them.

thank you in advance

    Good day

If you dont have the factory default disk, you will have to purchase them. Contact your local Acer Tech support for more information on how you go about in ordering them.

    Good day

Delete the partition of the HDD and dont allocate anything to it. Leave it unallocated, let the disks allocate the partitions and prepare the HDD for you. You can use the normal windows cd to delete the partitions. Alternatively, use third party software such as acronis disk director, partition magic, etc.

    thanks Guys.

I just thought i would come back in a let everyone know what the problem was, in the hope other people don't have to waste a full day trying to work it out. After all that my new HDD was found to be faulty. Thats why the options were grayed out.
