Aspire switch 10 charge via micro USB port.

Does anybody know if you can charge the switch 10 through the micro sub port please.

    Nope, it's just not possible with the design.

    I was trying that this morning.

    I plugged in the 2A charger from the Lenovo Miix and nothing, but on restart I got a message at shut down saying, "the device in the micro-usb port is preventing shut down." But it quickly overrode that and shut down anyway.

    I then tried an OTG cable with the Miix charger plugged into that. Same thing, but this time no message on restart.

    Given that it is detecting the charger plugged in, suggests to me, that it could be possible, but not in this version. I suspect Acer are keeping a few things to use in the next revisions as selling points. It's the way these things are done.

    I think if you look at the specs on the charger you'll find charging voltage is much higher than the 5V provided on a USB port. Charging voltage needs to be higher than battery voltage in order to charge.
