Hello, I have recently bought a Acer Aspire V3-772G - 8GB of RAM, CPU is i7-4702MQ and a dedicated GTX 850M 2GB GDDR5 GPU. And I have been experiencing random freezes when gaming. The freezes vary in length from fraction of a second to 3 seconds. During this period the game is irresponsive to commands
I have observed this in several games, namely World of Tanks, Elder Scrolls V Skyrim and Civilization V. I have established, by using the OS resource monitor, that this happens when the 4 parked CPU cores are brought into action. I have ran the laptop with both Windows 8.1 and Windows 7, and can confirm that the issue occurs with both.
I have discussed this issue with a few fellow computer savvy friends, and they have mentioned EPU. Yet I could not find any information if the motherboard in my laptop supports such a feature.
So my question are as follows:
Is it possible to have all cores active all the time, and if so - how can ths be achieved?
Best Regards,
Stanislav
