Hi!

I have an Acer iconia W511 windows 8 tablet.

I need to do a clean install of windows 8 either from usb dvd drive or usb thumb drive.

notice: a clean / fresh / from zero installation of windows 8

The tablet won't boot anything, i tried every boot option, secure boot off, secure boot on, boot order to dvd or usb hdd, bios password, no bios password, FTPM enabled or FTPM disabled = just everything.

If someone can guide what windows 8 iso to burn, what settings, what anything please!

Now the internal ssd of the tablet its completly empty! No boot device / hit any key! this is the message appears when i power it up!

I would apreciate if someone helps with this issue. I need to make it work, windows 8, windows 7, windows 8.1 with anything!

  • Hi,

When you say No bootable device, Have you checked under BIOS if the HDD is detected, if not it could be a HDD failure

Are you using the USB or CD recovery media shipped with your tablet?

If not , are you restoring the same OEM version that was shipped wiht your tablet?

A 511 should have had 2 CDs and a DVD shipped with it. The bootable one is marked "system" you will need a poweredCD/DVD (own wall wart) or a powered hub to reliable drive a CD, the 510/511 power is marginal. Since a 511 you may also have a disk from the 3G/4G/LTE provider.

I have no DVDs or CDs for restoring.
I have to install it by UBS hdd or USB odd somehow.
The tablet wasn't able to boot itself And always started the repairing tools from w8 recovery.
The tablet won't restore, refresh, reinstall, repair via cmd from the win8 recovery.
The internal ssd it's online and working, tablet sees it but the drive it's empty after using diskpart.
If you have a solution of how to make it boot it would be great!
    I'm struggling for 2 weeks!

I don't know what windows was preinstalled. It was windows 8 x32 but after trying to update to windows 8.1 from windows update, tablet was trying to install updates and every time got an error and rolled back for a few hours. Each restart was trying to install downloaded updates...until a day when power up and started repair loop.
I also tried to disable recovery loop from cmd with the long code inside <> but after successful code in cmd, tablet still was in recovery loop.

Order the recovery set of discs from the Acer Store and use them. You'll get the full builld that way.

It depends on your location. Yours wasn't released in the US but you might be able to search from here.

It says "No RCD available for the entered Serial Number."

May someone order the cds for other windows 8 acer tablet and upload me the iso?

    Or anyone having other solutions?

You likely have to check from the Acer site that serves your locale. Their databases don't span locales, so coming in from the proper site will hopefully work with your serial number.
