Desperately seeking a downgrade, Kitkat is Horrendous.

Does any one know of a way to go back to jellybean? Downgrades? format and reinstall? I’d even take an alternative operating system at this point? Any help with this would be very welcome because at this point my tablets usless.

 

I bought my tablet because I am out the house a lot and I spend a lot of time on public transport and all reasons I bought this tablet now don’t work. I’ve tried Factory reset it did not help at all.

 

Issues I’ve found so far:

1. Ridiculous shortening of battery life, the battery just seems to drain like crazy now, even when I’m not using, my battery life seems to be approximately one there of its life pre-kitkat – meaning within a couple of hours of leaving the house its dead.
2. Netflix bug, I shouldn’t have to be hunting for an older version of the app that worked perfectly well before the update, even with the work around it still not playing properly. – the ability to watch thing when travelling was one of the main reasons I bought a tablet.
3. Music bug, now When listening to music it skips irritatingly for 1-2 seconds in about every 30 making listening to music just an annoying experience- this was the second main reason I bought this tablet, to listen to music when travelling, another function down.
4. Wifi – the wifi connection is now terrible, weak and drops regularly making browsing a complete pain and streaming horrible.
5. 3g – after the update 3g no longer works, I can’t get it to connect to the data connection at all, the phone signal works but the data connection is dead, I’ve tried checking all the settings and completely resetting it back up but no joy – this is the reason I bought this tablet in particular internet on the move but now that’s gone.
6. Usb connection – since the update connecting it to my laptop via usb is a nightmare, it disconnects constantly making transferring files a nightmare, I’ve tried multiple cables and computers but the result is the same, something I never had a problem with pre- update.
7. SD card access blocked – the limited access to the sd card was already an annoyance, ap to SD function used to exist in android, google removed them right around the time the nexus came out (no SD on nexus – coincident or dirty tactics? What do you think?) now I find they have limited access even more you can’t even copy and paste music or video files to the sd any more, I can’t seem to find it on the usb connection now either so I have to remove the SD to put music on it now.
8. To round it all off it doesn’t even run well, it slow and sluggish when previously on jellybean it was fine, I don’t even think it looks any nicer, it doesn’t add anything to the functionality and the noise on the keyboard is horrid.

Please Help I loved my tablet before this now its about as much use as a chocolet teapot.

That's unfortunate, my tablet works great on KitKat. Try maybe resetting the device.

2-3 know bugs, waiting for a fix

 

for the other issues, have you try a factory reset?

settings/backup&reset/factory reset

you will loose all your personal data

 

by the way, reading all that issues, if still under warranty i suggest you to contact the Acer support, i suspect some HW issues.
