Hello,

I would like to know if anyone tried to buy this docking station?
http://store.acer.com/store/aceremea/en_GB/pd/ThemeID.26339800/productID.283984800

Im asking becouse I cant think about any way how it works.. On the photos there are no connectors for Micro HDMI (to cradles HDMI) and same for RJ45 (not tlaking about that VGA).

So is this cradle really useless for W700 or what is going on here? ..

Theoretically it could, but the bandwidth available is high enough that almost everything going over the bus ends up working with short bursts of data. Most of the time the bus is idle waiting for more to do. SS mode is capable of transfers at 5 Gbs (625 MBs), quite a bit faster than current thumb drives. USB 3.0 is also bi-directional for transfers, allowing data to stream from a stage device into computer at the same time as video streams back out. USB 2.0 had to do one or the other...

It has three usb jacks on it.  Keeps the unit upright so you can use it with keyboard.  I have one, nice when I want more than a tablet but not all that useful - as you said :-)

The cradle connects to the tablet via the power jack and USB port. The cradle then provides the addiational ports as needed through the USB3.0 connection. Similar to something like a Targus dock, but incorporating the stand at the same time. Handy for a fixed installation where you bring the tablet in to use like a desktop.

Yes, taking advantage of the speed of USB 3.0.

If you already have the old cradle, you can just get a $10 USB card reader, $15 USB LAN adapter, and the included microHDMI-to-VGA adapter. Youd save quite a lot of money
