intermitent sound

Have AXC 605, purchased in April worked fine for month then wasn't used again til last week. Powered up and no sound other than "static type" sound from speakers. Loaded new drivers from Acer site, nothing! Took it to computer shop they found by unplugging front audio from MB got sound fine, except it only works for half hour or so then static sound again. Reboot and sound is back for "another" half hour!!! Any ideas?? I'm a "newby" so go easy!!

    Thanks for posting here, I see you've been trying with all possible solutions, Have you also checked with Windows updates if there is KB2962407,. if you find this update installed, uninstall the same & also hide it from Installing again,. even after this if you have the issue, Contact Acer Tech Supprot

    i would try to update, chipset and audio drivers:

    http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers/4945;-;Aspire%20XC-605

     

    select your OS and download related drivers.

    Thanks for the response! have uploaded latest chipset driver and audio driver and NO the Windows update was not in my history file! powered up this afternoon and I had sound for about 3 songs and then "gone" rebooted, and had sound again for 3-4 songs. I'm using Winamp, so tried using Win 8.1 sound after another reboot, 2 songs!!,Did another reboot and back to Winamp and had music for half an hour or so then gone again! Frustrated!!! Thanks.

    Problem solved!! ONLY cost me $60 Can. bought a sound card. Figure it must be some fault on the MB. Thanks for the replies! dmitch
