Hi i have a acer (aspire E5-511 motherboard) i have a intel pentium qaud core 2.16GHz up to 2.58GHz 2MB cache. I want to install a processer that has at least 3.0 GHz and 4-6MB cache. Can I install a I-3 I-5 I-7 core? Is there like a list on a website that tells you whats compatible with your motherboard. I asked some other people and they said i can install anything to this laptop. I hve 8GB of RAM 7.89 GB unsable.

I want to install a diffrent graphic card that is also compatible with the sockets of my mobo. I currently have Intel HD Graphics no 2000 3000 4000 etc.

I just want to mainly play Call of duty black ops 2 and league of legends with at least 60 fps with normal graphics (medium). People tell me to buy a new laptop but i just got this one and im saving up for an alienware for the next 4 years.

So can you guys tell me what processer is compatible for my mobo nd what graphics car is compatilble for my mobo.

If nothing is good for my mobo i can get another motherboard for my laptop but i dont know where to find one online i need you guys to show me the websites because i have no idea how to work the insides of a laptop.

Thanks.

I'm afraid that you can not upgrade the CPU as it's soldered to the motherboard(FCBGA type) and the graphics is integrated as well, I have to check whether the model has other vaiants of CPU installed to suggest a MB change.

EDIT: No luck, these models have only pentium CPUs, I would suggest you to sell it and get a gaming laptop, these are meant to be Everyday usage machines, that's what "E" denotes.

So if i get a pentium cpu will it work? Or a whole diffrent motherboard.

You have one of the top Pentium CPUs and it's soldered to mother board, unless you have the tools and soldering experience, it will be costly and the other option of new motherboard also expensive, that's why I have suggested to sell this laptop at a slight loss and get a gaming laptop after going through the details carefully.

What do you mean soldered what does that mean. But it would work if I change the motherboard and install the i-7 core or -5 etc. I might just go to my computer shop and ask them if they can change the motherboard and install i-cores.

Yes, it's better you get a second opinion from a Computer Technician, these ultra low voltage CPUs are permanently fixed on the motherboard and can not be removed by the users.

So I can't take out my motherboard. What do you mean by users like me?

Sorry i'm not a computer guy, I mean not the inside of a computer so i'm kind off new at this stuff.

So my graphics card and CPU is soldered into my motherboard. Can't I just take out the motheboard and put in another one? If that works to i have to solder the CPU and Graphics into the motherboard?
