Bluetooth won't connect on my TC-605 desktop

Hi,

Using win 8.1. 64bit. Can't connect to my BT devices (iphone 5s & Jawbone mini speaker). Those devices connect properly with each other.

PC device manager says I have BT hardware & software. BT driver Ver 8.0.1.314

No problems indicated.

When I go to Settings---Change PC settings---PC & Devices---Bluetooth, I get:

"Manage Bluetooth Devices"

"Your pc is searches for and can be discovered by Bluetooth devices"

Below that are green dots moving from left to right (indicating it is trying to detect devices?)

I do not get a button to turn BT on/off.

PC never connects to either device.

Any helpful suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The Bluetooth audio services for the BIG JAMBOX may not get enabled by default if JawboneLink is enabled.

1. Open the classic Control Panel by typing "Control Panel" at the home screen and clicking the "Control Panel" icon.
2. In the Control Panel navigate to "Hardware and Sound" and then "Devices and Printers".
3. In the "Devices and Printers" window find the " BIG JAMBOX by Jawbone" device.
4. Right click on the device (the equivalent touch gesture is "touch and hold" until the square appears then let go).
5. Select Properties.
6. Select the "Services" tab.
7. Select "Audio Sink", "Handsfree Telephony" and "Remote Control".
8. Click or touch "Apply".

The speakers should now be working. After enabling these services, it may be necessary to set the BIG JAMBOX as the default playback and recording device.

To set the BIG JAMBOX as the default playback and recording device:

1. Open the classic Control Panel by typing "Control Panel" at the home screen and clicking the "Control Panel" icon.
2. In the Control Panel navigate to "Hardware and Sound" and then click "Sound".
3. On the Playback tab, select the " BIG JAMBOX by Jawbone" device and then click the "Set Default" button.
4. Repeat this step on the "Recording" tab.
5. Click or touch "Apply".

Hi,

I have the same problem with my Win 8.1 TC-605. According device manager all bluetooth devices are correctly installed and should be working

But when searching for bluetooth devices:

"Your pc is searches for and can be discovered by Bluetooth devices"

it will not find any device.

I have enabled the bluetooth discovery on my Nexus 5 and on a AVR Receiver's bluetooth device.

This devices also can't see the PC's bluetooth device.

Seems this is the same case with other Acer Desktops, help is appreciated.

What driver are you using? I have TC-605 and windows 8.1 with latest driver. I can connect to my iPad just fine via bluetooth. I use bluetooth on the iPad to play music on my TC-605's speakers.

Unfortunately Acer hasn't done a very good job at keeping the drivers updated. I used the windows 7 driver. They don't have the latest driver listed under windows 8.1. I updated the Qualcom/Atheros wireless/bluetooth to .287.

Thanks for the hint. Since I was installing the Desktop with a fresh Win8.1 Installation I assumed all drivers are up to date. I checked if there is a newer driver available (update driver in device manager) and for the device Bluetooth USB Module a new driver was found and installed 'Qualcomm Atheros Communications' 8.0.1.243.

Before this update a Windows driver was used. For other bluetooth devices in device manager there was no update available. (windows driver currently used).
