I have an Acer laptop model 5736. The screen won't light up but I can connect a VGA cable to my tv and see that the computer is working. ( i typed this on it). The screen started acting up a month or two ago and I could close it or re-position it and it would come back on. Today it stopped altogether. I watched a couple of videos on youtube on downloading bios, but that didn't work for me. When i tried to run the bios it said my computer was 64 bit and didn't support the 32 bit bios. any suggestions?  thanks!

Sounds like your LCD went out or the cable that connects it to the mainboard is damaged or unhooked. You will probably need to use an external monitor with it, or see how much it would cost to replace the LCD panel.
