I bought a brand new acer Aspire V5 yesterday, and I am very disapointed.

I bought a acer machin yesterday january 14, (Aspire V5) and I am very disapointed, because my email conection dont function. This is my first atempt wit windows 8 controlled with all thouse apps, so I am not able to corect the problem my self. Now I am using my old lapptopp. I believe that the probleme maybe because my email adresss is a yahoo.com and not a microsoft adres like hotmail.

The reason I believe so is that the sett up on the machin allways asked for my email adress with microsoft, which I dont want to use because I have used my yahoo for 10 years, and if I suddently change no one will find me of my old contacts.

 

Please send me easy instructions how to correct this. If I cannot have this corected today I have to go back and return the machin. Last wee I bought I packard bell machin and the set up (with my yahoo.com adresss) function fine, but i changed to acer only to get a machin with thouch screen.

Frans, I believe that you are misunderstanding.

When you create an account on the computer, you can choose two types of accounts, a local account and a Microsoft account.  A Microsoft account is used to sync your account information, allow you to use the Microsoft store to purchase apps/tiles, and other things specific to Microsoft.

A local account is just for the local machine and does not allow you to do the things a Microsoft account does.

 

Neither account limits the email account that you are able to set up on the machine. 

Please feel free to continue using your Yahoo! account for email in any email application you choose to use.
