Acer V3-772G going crazy

Hey guys,

I;ve been having problems with this device since the day I bought it.

The second day I owned it a bad pixel jumped onto the screen. After pushing it for some time physically on the surface of the screen it dissapears for another day or two.

But my biggest problem is taht sometimes touchpad simply stops responding to any gestures or mouse cursor keeps shaking on my screen. The only ting I can do is turn off the whole touchpad and wait for it to repair itself.

Also it happens that for no apparent reason my notebook behaves like as if I had been pressing CRTL button all the time, while I dont do it at all. Pressing S key alone makes it run into save options. Left clicking on the page makes it open in a new bookmark.

Any ideas?

  • If it's not a hardware problem your O/S is probably corrupted.

I would save all my personal files to a flash drive or external drive and do a factory reset.

    It's in the user manual.

    Start Acer Recovery Management:
    • From Start, type 'Recovery' and then click Acer Recovery
Management in the list of apps.
Two options are available, Restore Factory Settings (Reset my PC) or
    Customized Restore (Refresh my PC).
Restore Factory Settings deletes everything on your hard drive, then
reinstalls Windows and all software and drivers that were pre-installed on
your system. If you can access important files on your hard drive, back
them up now. See "Restore Factory Settings with Acer Recovery
    Management" on page 54.
Customized Restore will attempt to retain your files (user data) but will
reinstall all software and drivers. Software installed since you purchased
your PC will be removed (except software installed from the Windows
Store). See "Customized Restore with Acer Recovery Management"
    on page 56.

There's one problem though - I have the No O/S version, so there is no Factory Restore function for me.

I admit my O/S is not fully legal, but is it possible to be causing such a problems?

  • It's possible. To me it would be easier to save my stuff, reinstall the O/S and see if it still acts up.How confident are you your software install is not corrupted? Did you have any errors when you installed?
