Hello

I've some problems with the pau30. It's very slow now. Just just installed windows 8 again and installed the drivers and still it's very slow. I've searched for so long now and i can't seem to find any anwers. Hope someone can help me out. If i start task manager than the disk usage is most of the time at 100%.

How much memory does Task Manager say you are using? If it's having to swap out to disk you'll see similar symptoms. You might try a clean boot to see if it's significantly faster without so much running.

You can also see slow performance if your anti-virus is scanning in the background. I typically set things up so the scan happens overnight, and leave it on so it can actually scan when it's supposed to. Smiley Happy

    Hello

    Thanks for your answer.

Memory use is fine , it's the disk that is using that much. What do hou mean by clean boot? Install Windows again without any drivers? I've not installed an anti virus yet.

Windows 8 (and 8.1) has an anti-virus built in. They updated MS Security Essentails and renamed it back to Windows Defender. There should be at least a couple of Defender services running at all times.

A Clean Boot is similar to the old safe boot. You load only MS services to minimize the effects of other software on your system. Here is a link to instructions.

What i dont understand is that i installed windows 8 again , a fresh install and still its so slow. I dont understand it anymore. I tried a fresh install without installing drivers and one with installing drivers. I even tried an other harddrive now and the problem stays. Now what? And my other laptop with the same version of Windows everythings fine.

It is possible the drive on your system is faulty, that's why we were trying to diagnose other possibilities before sending you to Acer Support.

It was the hard drive itself. I've changed it again and installed all the drivers and everything works fine now.
