Considering upgrading BIOS - Aspire S3-951

I have recently encountered very odd issues with my Acer, where the network adapter is just not recognized, despite manual driver install.

I'm wondering if upgrading the bios might help, and has anyone done this before? There is one available from the Acer support site - BIOS Acer 1.18_A_A.zip but I don't want to run it until I make sure it is compatible and safe.

Any experience?

What version of Windows are you running?

What driver version do you have?

I really don't think a BIOS flash will fix the issue, or others would be talking more about it. Have you tried completely restoring your system? That may be the next step. If that doesn't fix it, you probably have a bad network adapter.

    Thank you for the response.

Actually I've found another solution that I'm going to try. First to see if it really is a hardware or software problem then go from there.

I can't delete this post so I'll just end it here. Thanks again!
