LOCATING AND DOWNLOADING GENUINE ACER DRIVERS, BIOS etc...

Just in case any one else wants the instructions for links to genuine Acer Drivers, BIOS UPDATES, DOCUMENTATION.....

 

I was recently asked where we might find genuine Acer Bios updates

 

Go to www.acer.com ...   then click on SUPPORT ....

You may get redirected to your country's ACER site ....    e.g... http://www.acer.co.uk/ac/en/GB/content/support  here in the UK...

Near the bottom of the page is 'DRIVERS AND MANUALS''

Click on 'SEARCH BY PRODUCT' and enter the model number of your Acer product,  and then click on the SEARCH icon.       Example: I typed in 5472Z and clicked on the SEARCH button...

You will see a list of likely products... for example Aspire 5742Z  Aspire 5742ZG;  TravelMate 5742Z; TravelMate 5742ZG... etc

Click on the name of the product you want support for.  Example:   Click on Aspire 5742Z

 

This will give you headings such as DRIVER; DOCUMENTS; BIOS; PATCH; APPLICATION; OS

 

Example:   I clicked on BIOS and saw...

'BIOS     Acer     Fixes sometimes system time will be set to default value.     1.26     6.7 MB     2011/11/14     Download' 

...   which was very close to what I was looking for.
