Help please with clarification of MBR issues for using Recovery Disks with new drive

Hi,

Apologies for not quite understanding enough.....

I've popped in a new SSD drive and successfully used the recovery CD's to create a working Acer Aspire 5742z.... BUT.. I'm repeating the installation as I seemed to get various Windows startup problems, and after running CHKDSK c: /F a few times I am going to do a Recovery again...

1. Do the restore CD's recreate all the partitions in the right order?  (For example PQservice, System, C_Drive) or do the recovery cd's always create just one 'C' drive' partition?

I ask because it would be really useful to restore by using the F10 key in the future.

2. Is it important to make the new SSD drive a UEFI type, or should I always give it an MBR characteristic?

I had  failure trying to restore my backup of the old (now wiped) SATA drive, with its 3 partitions.

I have used an Acronis disk wiper to remove failed attempts to install. Not something I like doing on an SSD drive.

I have two seperate other backups of the old drive, which I think was the original MBR type.

Thanks in advance for any help.
