S5-391 Wireless

Hi,

I've been struggling with a WIFI issue on my S5-391 since November. Basically, it won't work using WPA 2 (AES). This is the only mode that my router seems to allow to use speeds above 54mbps.

I assumed at first it was probably immature drivers (with windows 8 being so new), but there have been a few driver revisions since then and the problem has remained unsolved. Grateful for any ideas - it's driving me mad!

The chipset for wireless appears to be the Atheros AR9462, which should support AES, TKIP and WEP.

I have a similar issue, but only when using WPA2-AES security - if I use standard WPA everything is ok (although annoyingly at much lower speed)

This is very relevant information that you fail to include in this particular request.

I have forwarded a request for clarification on the supported network encryption protocols.

Thank you for the response. The wireless chip is identified by windows as the atheros AR5BMD222.

Yes, using standard WPA it works fine - but only at 54g speeds

Windows 8 may not be able to connect to some Cisco routers
