Acer misadvertised aspire laptop

I purchase a new booked acer aspire laptop from a large respected retailer here in Thailand yesterday.

Product Aspire E14. E5-412G-45L0

P/N NX.MNQST.001

The box sticker along with the sticker on the laptop pad, advertise the laptop with R5 M240 with 2GB dedicated (note the bold) RAM.

On inspection it seems this is not the case.  Windows 8.1, latest drivers, latest BIOS (as directed by Acer site 1.06) all register it as 512mb, catalyst center say 512mb, cpu-id say 512mb.

Forgive me for being cynical but Id like to discuss with someone (that isnt working through a helpdesk script) the merits of this?  Please advise method of reaching out to people without having to pull my remaining hair out in the meantime.

The retailer would accept it back and send it off, but we have a saying **bleep** (This is Thailand), they probably just return it "replace new box" without understanding the issue, of course after 6 six weeks of messing about.

Im not sure how Acer would be able to help you in this instance. If you got something that you paid for but its what was not advertised, you should file a complaint with the corporate department of the retailer you have purchased from.

Here in America, we have seller protections, if we paid by a debit or credit card and we made good faith to reasonably resolve the problem but still did not get a resolution we can file a chargeback against the retailer to get the ball rolling.

Maybe the retailer put a wrong sticker on the box?
