I have an 2009 Acer Extensa 4420 laptop that won't power up.

It has been sitting for 4 months un-used. Wouldn't run on battery (15 min max)

Finally bought a new battery.

When I press the start button there is no response.

I have checked power supply: good 19.1 V dc

I have a new battery .

When I plug in the power supply, I get A GREEN light on the battery charge incicator.

I have tried the static reset: remove battery & power supply, press & hold start for 30 seconds.

I have removed & reset RAM modules (2x 1 GB).

I have opened back and reseated all ribbon connections & plug connectors, hard drive etc.

Last fall it was intermitant on start up, I replaced cmos battery, fixed that.

Could use some suggestions where to look next.

    Problem SOLVED:

I did more reading. Found more on reset procedure.

    1) I unpluggged the battery & left it overnight.

    2) Pressed & held the start button for 1 mniute.

    3) Replaced the battery (new one) & pressed start : THE UNIT POWERED UP!!!!!!!!

    I'm now loading updates.
