V7-482PG-5438 touchpad not working out of the box

Hi,

So I just bought a new V7-482PG, and the touchpad is not working, right out of the box. I have tried fn+ f7, and that didn't help. I checked Device Manager, and the touchpad is not even showing up.

Neither the Synaptic or Elantech drivers on the Acer website helped; in fact, the Elantech drivers ended up disabling my keyboard!

Is there any way I can fix this, or do I have to return it? Thanks in advance!

    rniner,

I am sorry to hear that your touchpad is not working out of the box. Did the touchpad work during first windows setup? If the touchpad is not showing up in device manager, then I would recommend contacting technical support in your region for options available.

Most cases it would require service as it sounds like the hardware is not being detected.
