Bluetooth not working on my Acer Aspire V3-531

Hi....As per the title...I cannot find how to activate the bluetooth on my son's V3-531. I am trying to pair my phone to upload a photo but can't seem to get it to work. My thoughts were perhaps it is just bluetooth ready and I have to purchase a dongle to utilise the bluetooth. Anyone have any ideas?

After pfaffing about for some 30 minutes I thought I would click on the blue 'Fn' button and the F3 wifi button. It came up with an option to turn on the Bluetooth. I turned it to 'On' but still couln't connect my phone. I then clicked on the tiny up arrow near the clock in the bottom taskbar and found the bluetooth icon in there but it was red. I clicked on that and then 'show bluetooth devices' I quickly enabled my phone again which found the PC bluetooth and then paired the two. It then uploaded my phone settings and now I have suxcccessfully uploaded my photo.

Why can't these excellent laptops make things simple for the user. I shouldn't have to fiddle about for 45 minutes to try to get something to work. I am in no way a comuter novice either!!!

I hope this helps someone else too.

You must , remember that in Windows there are 2 main features , REFRESH and RESET , my bluetooth was not working and other issues as well ,system lag and other hardware device failures including USB 2.0 on right side of laptop v3 ,but a long wait of 40 minutes of refresh , my system is running well again..

Not even have to go for RESET option which is factory default settings , erasing everything..

It should have a shortcut key. Press on it. Or you can go to the control panel and look for the bluetooth settings. Or you might want to update or reinstall the bluetooth driver in your computer. Go to the device manager.

Click on the small white 'up' arrow near the clock on the right of your pc screen. You should see the Bluetooth logo in a white box that appears. Right click the Bluetooth logo and click on 'Turn Adapter On'. Voila your Bluetooth should be ready to pair with your phone/device.

My bluetooth to my samsung galaxy s2 is not working on bluetooth since I updated from windows 8 to 8.1. It initially recognizes the phone but then drops out. I have been on device manager to try & update any software but it comes back to say I am at the lastest level. Any ideas

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I had forgotten it was this simple.

I have spent hours faffing/searching the internet/trawling through the manual etc.
