How to flash BIOS Aspire V5 in case of an emergency such bootable USB or CD?

Recently I had a problem which I couldn't access BIOS settings at all after changing it to Legacy from UEFI. Since I am very impatient person I went for the risky way that I dismantle my laptop and somehow managed to pull the CMOS battery. I reassembled my pc with a broken casing, lose cables and short of screws and a lot of luck. My computer is working now though it can be crashed anytime due to short circuit inside.

As a measure of precaution I want to keep a backup copy of BIOS just in case if it happen again since I am definitely going to experiment with the LEgacy boot option. The BIOS file I have downloaded from Acer website is single executable file. How can I run that from a bootable USB stick or CD. Is it compatible with DOS?

    Tom444,

I am sorry to hear about your difficulties with the BIOS and the measures you had to take. As for your question, the BIOS we have available is only executable in Windows. I can assure you that changing from UEFI to Legacy should not affect you being able to get into the BIOS. You should still be able to completely shut down the system and use the F2 key to enter your BIOS regardless of the mode you have it set too.
