Acer aspire v5-552p-x440 network problems.

Hi! We bought this laptop a little over a year ago and it's been fantastic except for one issue that's been happening for the past 6 months. Whenever the laptop is plugged into the charger, the wireless works fine and I get a good amount of speed from it. But when the power is unplugged, the internet stops dead and cannot even connect. It shows it's connected to my access point with 5 bars of signal but cannot get any internet access period. I've tried fiddling with the power settings. The wireless strength is on full when unplugged, I have unchecked the box labeled "Power off this device to save power" and tried numerous driver versions. 

 

Anyone got any help? This is a great laptop and I would love to see my family get it's full use once again.

If you have checked the power settings, I don't know what more you can do. Maybe it is a hardware problem? I'm assuming it happens if you try to connect it to a different network?
