When shutting down my Aspire E1-731, every time I receive 20 to 30 updates that need to be installed. Can I avoid this?

(Important: It is recommended to install Windows Updates regularly for better performance of system. They not just keep your system running smoothly but also secure it from malware attacks, application crashes, and other vulnerabilities).

You can bypass "Install Updates and Shut Down" option by following the steps below:
    For Windows 8 users:
    1. Press Windows key + R. Enter gpedit.msc in the Run dialog box that comes up. Hit "Enter".
    2. Go to Local computer policy -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update
    3. Double-click on Do not display 'Install Updates and Shut Down' option in Shut Down in Windows dialog box entry in left-pane.
    4. A new window will open-up wherein you will see that the settings for Do not display 'Install Updates and Shut Down' option in Shut Down in Windows dialog box is set to "Not Configured". Change it to "Enabled"
    5. Now, "Install Update and Shut Down option" will not be available in Power button until you again go to the settings and change "Enabled" to "Not Configured" or "Disabled".
