I have an Acer Aspire V3. The sound isn't working. This has been happening since two weeks now. until a few days ago, I use to go to control panel, update my sound drivers and restart the laptop, it used to work pretty fine. But since the last two days, no amout of restarting or updating has been of any help.  (however, I might add, itunes has completey stopped working on this system)
What do I do?

To resolve the issue with audio (sound) drivers:

You first need to check if there is any issue with your sound card. To do this, you can refer to "Step 1" mentioned on the following Microsoft support page:
(Important: Select your Windows version appropriately from the drop-down menu on the top-left corner of the webpage before starting with the troubleshooting.)
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows/no-sound-help#no-sound=windows-8&v1h=win8tab2&v2h=win7tab2&v3h=winvistatab2&v4h=winxptab2
If you detect any hardware issue, you can follow the further troubleshooting steps mentioned in the above link to resolve the issue.

If you are not able to detect any hardware issue, you can try uninstalling and reinstalling audio drivers and see if that resolves your issue. To do this, refer to the steps below:
    To uninstall audio drivers-
    1. Go to "Control Panel", then go to "Hardware and Sound"
    2. Go to "Device Manager" and select the audio drivers you need to uninstall.
    3. Uninstall the audio drivers.

To reinstall the audio drivers, follow the steps below:
    1. Go to http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers
    2. Enter the complete model number of your Aspire V3 in the box besides "Search by Product Model"
    3. Once your product gets displayed on the screen, select appropriately your version of Windows through the box besides "Operating System"
    4. Go to Driver column, locate your Audio drivers and click on "Download" in the same row to download drivers to your system. Click on the downloaded file and follow on-screen instructions to install the drivers.

Hope this will resolve your issue of audio drivers.
