Hello
A couple of months ago I had reason to ask Acer to repair my V5-571 The fault was my screen started to flash as if there was a loose connection the light areas getting dark and the photos as if odscured somewhat.. Anyhow my health is not as it should be and I had to undergo heart surgury so the laptop did not get sent in for a couple of months and in the mean time another problem occured this being the DVDdrive It ejectod one day and it came right out of its rails and never worked since So they was also told about this.
Anyway the time came for it to go back and by now the flashing screen had stopped Soit was collected by UPS on the Wednessday at 4pm the next day at 3pm Acer called to say it was fixed and was back in the mail and it was delivered back at 11.30am Friday Now that is some turnroad for any repair. So I am very greatful toAcer to get it done so quicj they have a fantastic repair service And are second to none.
However the repair that was done was the DVD was replaced as they could find no instances of the flashing or even get it to flash like it had beeen when I first originally reported the problem. But lo and behold as I powered the laptop up I could see the flashing I just wonder if the journy back to me had jarred the laptop and caused the flashing once more But there is only a couple of days to go on the original warranty and I have asked if because it had been reported before the warranty ran out it will be covered or if there was anyway to extend the presant warranty. That was Friday and I am waiting on the reply..
Also when I first got the laptop a year ago I had started to set it up and did something wrong so rather than have the error cause problem in the future I thought I would completely start again and did a reinstall thinking it would be the fastest way Now mine is a I5 chip so thought it would be fast But it took nearly a day to reinstall it Yes a Day LOL Im not sure what is wrong or how to check But thought I must never do that again. Also some months later I needed to do a roll back thinking that the previous thing should not have any baring on this but the rollback took over 5 hours. I also reported that to Acer but as I have said I dont know how they could test or have reason to test if the laptop seamed to be working right. So this will have to go unsolved untill such time as I need to do another rollback. To which I have needed but tried to stay well away from.
That is unless anyone can suggest anything to to try to show that there is a problem or any other type of operation that will show up the slowness of the laptop in these circumstances?
Its the same with the flashing I dont blame Acer at all as if its not presant when they are looking at it on the repair bench HOW can they repair something that is not there?
But any suggestons greatly recieved..
Regards Osh
