Acer S236HL monitor dimmer on the left and excessively hot on the right

 Hi there,

 

I noticed last night that my monitor was much dimmer on the left than usual. I thought nothing of it as a quick restart of the screen seemed to fix it.  However, the same issue occurred later on but I decided to leave it and test it today to see if the issue was still present. 

 

After checking today,  the issue is still present. To be sure it was not the PC's video output at fault I tested it with an MHL link to a phone and the problem still occurs.  I also noticed that the metal style bar on the bottom of the screen on the right hand side was rather hot to touch, making me concerned as to whether something was burning within the monitor. I immediately switched off the monitor and shortly after created this post in the hope that somebody can help me!  

 

I found the occurrence rather strange as the monitor was only purchased in December 2013 so is still relatively new! 

 

Any ideas/help would be appreciated

I am sorry to be the one to inform you but that sounds like a hardware issue and would require service. Please contact technical support in your region.
