Hello,

I have some troubles with my old one - TM 4650.

Few times from time to time when powered on there was black screen and hard drive (media) diode lighting. I can powered it of pressing power button for about 5 seconds.

Few days ago the same situation was during notebook working. There was black screen diode signaling powered off was not lighting and hard drive (media) diode lighting. I can't turned it off by pressing power button for 5 seconds.

I was thinking that is some with termic problem and I try to change cooling fan to new one. And there is a problem.... after this operation every one powering on my TM 4650 finishe with black screen and lighting diodes: power on indicator and hard drive (media) inidicator.

Can You give me some possible solutions to my problem?

Thanks in advance,

Best regards,

    hi..

You may remove the battery and power ON the computer by connecting only the AC adapter.

If you able to boot the computer, start it in safe mode and login into windows, then open device manger and uninstall the video driver and retart your computer in normal mode. The driver would be automatically restoredfrom Acer recovery management.

Thanks Ally, but it is not this case... I can't boot PC without battery.

Maybe it was not clear what I am writing...

I press power button, and everything looks OK, power on idicator lighting, CD/DVD works as normal boot but on the screen there is nothing Smiley Wink there is now Acer logo, no bios information, no error or something information...

One strange thing (except black screen) is that the hard drive (media) indicator lighting whole time. I can't hear or know if hard drive rotate at all.

Is there any safe notebook mode in my TM 4650? Maybe some self diagnostic mode as in desktops which gives error indication by sound?

    Best regards,

    hi..

The iisue could  be with corrupted BIOS.

The holding down [Fn] and [Esc] and press Power button sequence is used for flashing BIOS.

    hi..

This is not an issue  with motherboard battery, you may check by reseating the memory modules.
